Gary Hirsch is a Ted Talk giver, speaker, muralist, improviser, artist, and the creator of the Botjoy. He is both a local artist to Portland, as well as a global sensation. You can find his many murals all over Portland, throughout the U.S., as well as internationally.

Gary's show for the month of August is entitled "MEET YOUR MONSTERS." It is a delightful introduction to characters, creatures and beings inside of Gary's head that just need to come out. This exhibition is a "You Name It" show, where viewers are invited to name all of the paintings on display. Final titles will be chosen by the purchaser. If your title is chosen we will send you a hand-painted domino Bot made by Gary.

“My passion is to use art as a tool for transformation, connection, joy and empowerment. I am a painter, muralist and the creator of Botjoy, an exploration of how art can be surprising, delightful and helpful. Botjoy is a global art movement that spreads joy, courage, love and gratitude—one hand-painted robot at a time. I have painted thousands of domino robots and inspired hundreds of others to join me in making and sharing bots for their communities. I have also created giant interactive bot murals in cities around the world, such as Dallas, New Orleans, Phoenix, Madrid, London, Melbourne, Astoria, and Portland.”
